Foodie alert! If you love fine dining but prefer to pay less and go twice, now is the time to visit Vancouver! Tourism Vancouver calls January 20 to February 5, 2012, the “tastiest 17 days of the year”! The “Dine Out Vancouver Festival” is back again with many of our best restaurants participating in offering incredible deals! You can now check out the menus on Tourism Vancouver’s website at: tourismvancouver.com/dov/. We understand that this is the largest restaurant festival in Canada, with 231 restaurants of every variety offering set menus for $18, $28 or $38 per person. We have missed out on the Dine Out Vancouver opportunity in the past by taking too long to make up our minds, so do check out the list of restaurants and make your choices as soon as possible. If you are too late for your favourite dinner place, you may find that they are one of the 25 restaurants offering a lunch menu as well. For example, the very popular RainCity Grill has a set menu lunch for $18 per person which includes choices such as endive salad with shaved apples, walnuts, fennel, apple cider vinaigrette; wild BC salmon with organic green lentils, smoked bacon, braised celery & chard, followed by walnut cake with poached pear, mascarpone mousse, carrot & pear sorbet. Top picks for us at the Bee & Thistle (from us and our guests) are, in no particular order: Cin Cin, Coast Restaurant, Five Sails Restaurant, L’Abattoir, The Observatory at Grouse Mountain, “C” Restaurant, RainCity Grill, Cafe Carthage, Irish Heather Gastropub, the Salt Tasting Room, and we could go on and on.
The Bee & Thistle does have space available for much of this period so do check out our availability calendar on the Rates & Reservations page of this website.
