“The Florence” is named for Florence Dowling who first appears in the Vancouver Archives in 1926. Florence was the daughter of Ivy & Thomas. Besides being named for one of the most beautiful cities in the world, we know that Florence was a telephone operator and lived in this lovely Vancouver home. The rest of her story is gone but we can imagine her loves, her passions and her dreams as we walk the floors that she walked more than 100 years before us.
Florence would have loved this room, which overlooks the back garden through lovely vintage mullioned windows. The room features a queen size bed, an electric fireplace and is decorated in rich, deep colours that reflect the garden in the autumn. The pretty ensuite bathroom is partially tucked under the third floor stairs and features a chandelier, soaker tub and custom shower, gorgeous stone tiles with glass accents, plus most of the features listed above.
